Tabs: Today · Pieces · Progress · Family (no "Books" tab; singles are first-class). Progress is a calendar of practice with a Week · Month · All-time range toggle and effort stats pinned on top. Today stays purely about what to practice; the next lesson lives on Family. No heroes, no grades. Covers are CSS-generated spines.
Purely "what to practice today" — no schedule noise. Tappable piece rows: tiny cover + title + focus subtitle, whole row taps to the detail/record page. Matching clay spines group "same book" at a glance; a sage tick marks pieces already practiced today. (Next lesson now lives on Family.)
The book-centric shelf — active books with completion bars and a "next" hint, a finished book (sage seal), and Singles as equal citizens. The old "Books" idea, renamed so singles belong. Tap a book to open its contents.
Effort stats pinned on top, then the Week · Month · All-time range toggle, then the month grid (sage = practiced, ember ring = today, ember fill = selected) and a selected-day detail with that day's takes + replay. One calendar of practice — no grades, no timeline lens.
The guardian's base — and the new home for Next lesson (under "Upcoming"), so Today stays purely about practice. Below: the children, managed inline (the quick switcher lives in the top-right of the other tabs, not here), then account controls — consent & sharing, notifications, sign out.
One tap deep from a Today row (or a piece in Pieces): the book title + page, the focus panel as the page hero, target tempo, Listen to the reference, and the single ember Record that launches the Ember Stone recorder.
