The concept is unchanged from the rings mockup: the day is the unit of record, and three participation signals — Time, Pieces, Focus — fill toward that day's goal. What changes here is the shape language. Concentric rings that "fill" are the one place our design reads as a literal Apple-Fitness clone; these five explore forms Fitness can't own — and three of them come from music itself.
A single plant the day grows. Time is the stem's height; Pieces are leaves that open (2 filled, 1 still budding); Focus is the bloom unfurling at the top (half-open at 50%).
Distinct: growth/tending, not "closing" geometry. The week becomes a garden row — sparse days are shoots, strong days flower. Warmest and most emotional; the small risk is reading like a meditation app, so we keep it etched line-art, never cartoon.
Time is a warm light that sweeps across the keybed (70% lit). Pieces are black keys — one per assigned piece, lit honey when practiced (2 lit, 1 waiting). Focus is the felt rail below, filling to 50%.
Distinct: unmistakably a piano, so it can't read as fitness at all — the single most on-brand mark. Each day in history is its own little keybed lit warm. Trade-off: three channels on one object is the busiest to parse; the light/keys/felt planes are kept spatially separate to stay legible.
Three separate analog gauges — needle, ticks, brass bezel — one per signal (Time ember · Pieces honey · Focus sage), each sweeping to its goal like a tuner or a metronome dial.
Distinct: side-by-side gauges are the opposite of nested rings — and needles + ticks read as a musical instrument, not activity tracking. Most immediately legible of the five (a needle says "how far" instantly); the tuner/metronome cue is a bonus.
The day is one bar on a staff. Time is the tempo bar filling across it (70%); Pieces are noteheads (2 filled, 1 a ghost note); Focus is a crescendo hairpin opening to 50%.
Distinct: the furthest thing from a fitness dashboard, and the history view is the payoff — the week reads as a line of music, full measures vs. rests. Most editorial/expressive; least quantitative, so we keep the exact numbers in the caption beneath it.
Three warm columns (organ-pipe / candle) that fill from the bottom, each with a small ember glow at the fill line: Time ember · Pieces honey · Focus sage.
Distinct: vertical fills are not rings, and the ember-glow cap is pure brand soul. This is the lowest-risk, most instantly-readable option — a baseline to weigh the four bolder ideas against. Downside: bars are the least surprising / least "musical" of the set.
